Week Four: Innsbruck and Berchtesgaden

Week four's excursion was to Innsbruck, a small Austrian city that prides itself in being a university town. Innsbruck hosted the 1964 and 1976 Winter Olympics, with the town being just a Hungerburgbahn-ride away from the Alps. While we were there, we went on a guided tour through Altstadt, seeing the oldest Café in the city, the Goldenes Dachl (upper right), the Dom zu St. Jakob (below), and then taking the Hungerburgbahn to Alpenzoo.

The next day, three of us who didn't travel for the weekend headed to Berchtesgaden, famously known for housing Eagle's Nest, Hitler's vacation home. While Hitler is known to have only visited his home a few times (he was afraid of heights), we still were able to experience a rich history with splendid views of Germany below.

Thunderstorms hit Salzburg when we came back from Berchtesgaden, which kept most of us in the Center for the rest of the weekend. Now we're preparing for finals with less than a week left!
